Looking ahead to the route launches Stansted’s Strategy and Solutions Director, Nick Barton commented:
“Stansted offers more direct scheduled connections throughout Europe than any other airport in the UK and we’re delighted to be extending those links further with the arrival this week of Athens and Vilnius onto our comprehensive route network.
“The twice daily link to Athens will not only offer business and leisure passengers a direct connection to the world renowned Greek capital, but also offers passengers the opportunity to connect directly onto Aegean Airlines domestic network that now serves around 17 destinations across Greece.
“Vilnius is one of the largest financial centres of the Baltic States and with its current status as 2009 European Capital of Culture, and reputation as being one of the most hospitable cities to visit, the Lithuanian Capital is set to become an extremely popular link from here.
“Athens and Vilnius are just two of 11 connections to join our European network in the past couple of months and we’re also looking forward to welcoming links to Bezier in the Languedoc region of France, and Italy’s popular coastal retreat of Rimini, when Ryanair start their direct services from here next month.” |
