Down Hall General Manager Made Chair Of Harlow & District’s Chamber Of Commerce

It has been announced today that the new Chairman for the Harlow and District Chamber of Commerce, will be esteemed local businessman Sean Quinney, General Manager of the luxury Down Hall Country House Hotel, Bishop Stortford.

Sean Quinney has been appointed Chairman to steer the Chamber into a new era, following his effective leadership and managerial skills reflected in the success of Down Hall. The Harlow Chamber continually strives to maintain a thriving environment and works closely with the District Council to ensure local issues are brought to the attention of both businesses and residents. Harlow & District Chamber of Commerce also produces the largest, most successful business event in the area, the ‘West Essex Business Awards’. This is a chance for businesses in the area to celebrate their achievements and offers a great opportunity for networking and the chance to create new businesses relationships, encourage investment in the area and in its resources. Sean Quinney studied Hotel Management at Henley College, before starting his career as a restaurant supervisor at the grand Wembley Hilton. During his career he has worked at a number of small hotels before joining the management team for the opening of the famous Forest Arden Hotel and Golf Club. As F&B Manager, he helped secure the English Golf Open with lucrative implications for the Hotel. Latterly he was F&B manager for the opening of the Milton Keynes Hotel & Conference Centre before joining Moat House where he was Operations Director at Lakeside and Liverpool. He was then appointed General Manager of Newcastle Airport Moat House before leaving to join the Corus Hotels Group and then McDonald Hotels. He re-joined Moat House Group through a difficult period of management change. Sean has been General Manager at Down Hall Country House Hotel since June 2005.
