Pellys LLP are once again taking part in “Will Aid” this November. Stephen Roche, Managing Partner describes how Will Aid works. “Will Aid is a unique partnership between the legal profession and nine of the UK’s leading charities.
During November this year instead of charging a fee for making a basic Will, our Personal Estate Planning Team will waive their costs and request instead that our client makes a donation to Will Aid, the fee that we would normally charge. By taking advantage of this opportunity our client will be helping the Will Aid charities to transform the lives of children, their families and whole communities around the world, as well as ensuring the security of their own loved ones. The suggested minimum donation, although entirely voluntary, is £40 for a codicil to an existing Will, £75 for a single Will, or £110 for mirror Wills. Since it was launched in 1988, Will Aid has raised nearly £7 million in donations. The last campaign in 2006 raised over £730,000 in donations and a further £5 million in legacies. We are very pleased to be associated with some of Britain’s best loved charities as they work miracles by transforming the lives of people here in the UK and all over the World. For example, they work to help street children in Ghana, provide clean drinking water to remote schools in Tibet and assist with the care of the elderly in the UK. All money raised by Will Aid supports the work of ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help The Aged, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, SCIAF, Sightsavers International and Trocaire.
