Itinerary

Starting with a coach ride airside around the airport taking a behind the scenes look, we will view the North side of the airport home to Harrods Aviation, Inflite Jet Centre, Fayair and Titan Airways where we may even see some private jets on display.

We will see firefighters undergoing their regular training using the LPG-fuelled training rig which was built to resemble a hybrid of a Boeing 737 (engine) Boeing 767 (fuselage) and MD-11 (tail), thereby representing a wide number of aircraft types that use Stansted regularly.

Along the way we will hear from our Tour Guide on the history of the airport and you will be surprised at some things you learn.  It is amazing, we turn up and the airport ready for our flight on holiday and do not give a second thought to what actually happens behind the scenes to keep us all safe.

We will then stop by the on-site education centre  known as the Aerozone which opened in June 2015 and is accessible to young people from the ages of 5 to 18 in local schools and further education establishments. This is part of Stansted Airport's commitment to inspire a generation of young people to choose a career in the aviation industry.  

Over a cup of tea and a slice of cake, will have the opportunity to take a look around the centre and see first hand how it works to inspire the future employees in aviation.

The Aerozone also has a viewing platform which is not open to the public giving a first class view of the runway, so plenty of chances to take a few snaps.  You may also want to ensure you bring a coat - it's can be a bit breezy!

Essex Police will be joining the Fire and Rescue Service and both will be displaying some of their high tech vehicles and accessories for you to take a closer look at.
