Snow Photos from Stansted Airport Print E-mail
Written by Julie Budden

baPhotograph show a British Airways 747 being de-iced at Stansted today. Bad weather forced the Gatwick bound jet to divert into Stansted after its long haul flight from Lagos, Nigeria.

Stansted's performance during the recent bad weather has been excellent, with only a minimum period of closure due to a particularly heavy snow fall on Tuesday morning.

Frank McCrorie, General Manager Airside, said:

"We're obviously not through the bad weather at present but it's been a fantastic effort so far to keep the airport open and runway, taxiways, aprons and stands operating near to normal. Much credit has to go the well trained snow teams, and determination of all airport staff."Stansted has, and continues to do, everything in its power to prepare for periods of adverse weather and react as quickly and efficiently to ensure that we maintain business as usual."
